Steelhead

Citizens of Steelhead

Yesterday the Babbage Militia violated our sovereignty and our laws and violated our boarders to come in and take Ashiko who, knowing he'd never get a fair shake in Babbage, had sought safe haven here.

We are not part of Babbage. That troll, Tenk, does not rule here. We are a sovereign state. The Babbage Militia has no authority to come and arrest ANYONE in Steelhead. Yet, that is what they did. What happened to Ashiko's right to an extradition hearing? To a fair trial? This move by Babbage is an insult to Lord Lunar, to Sheriff Ortega, and all of the citizens of Steelhead! It is nothing short of an act of war by Babbage against Steelhead. If we do not act, then we might as well declare that we have been annexed by Babbage and submit ourselves to the tyranny of the Troll, but I say - LONG LIVE STEELHEAD and LONG LIVE THE ELF!

mister beck sir, i do so admire your courage and conviction! i have found that, to form a revolutionary protest movement, one need simply promise everyone compassion and cake, and they quite understand!

for there is good at the heart of everyone, isn't there?.. even cannibal mayors, rather.

((Ortega was still in San Francisco and the sisters were in church.......none of them were real happy with what went down. Which can you blame them? They have a reputation of keeping the peace. Ortega is well respected throughout the Steamlands........that's what I've been told by others, btw, I haven't actually heard that first hand......something like this can tarnish that reputation......for like two minutes, then it'll turn to how the militia were cowardly in invading Steelhead, not having the guts to face the "Big Guns" of Steelhead))

((I think it rocks for RP purposes that nobody seemed to know about it. Gives us something to be outraged over))

((Ah sorry... I have had a lot on my plate as well popping up folks, I let Babbage handle the liason with y'all because I figured it'd be a better way of getting stage one done... my idea for the RP was to encourage multisim RP ect ect... sadly with all of our busy schedules having everyone in the know is a challange and a task I have yet to be perfected. I do have more in mind for steelhead but right now I have turned 21 on thursday the 27th and am cultivating a life long romance with gin and tonic. However I would be more than welcome to chat with any and all Steelhead folks if they want to get in on the action. Winter and spring are times for balls, dancing, baking cookies and having tea, but summer is a time for explosions, mystery, and villainy!))

((I just scrolled back on my Skype conversation with Lunar, looking for something else we were discussing. They did contact Lunar during our part of the Grand Tour about all this, wanting to discuss about what they wanted to do. I didn't catch it, because I was giving him RFL totals at the same time. Much as Lunar has on his plate, RL and SL, passing futher information that they gave him afterwards was probably the last thing on his mind, OR he decided to leave it a secret so that everyone's reactions were genuine. Which is ok. This was a Babbage storyline, we would've just been bit players. If I was involved, I would've handed Ashiko over to them in the end, along with something about thinking twice before invading Steelhead a second time.

For the record, part where I said I was hurt. I wasn't. After hearing what had happened, I probably spent like twenty seconds going, "Well darn, I would've like to have been involved." Then shrugged it off and moved on. Also wasn't serious about banning Babbage. This is just so everyone knows I'm not upset or anything.))

Historical answer- Being a part of the United States, the government in Washington DC discuss the best way to deal with what had happened. Navy ships would be patrolling off the coast of Steelhead, and since we're in a Steamlands universe, military airships would also be patrolling the skies. New Babbage is a city state, Steelhead is a town in Oregon......that has become a port of call for different places across the globe.

The only downside to that scenario is that the US military would probably go around taking control of Steelhead. On the other hand, a certain Lycan sheriff of Steelhead has a sister who's an agent for a US secret service type organisation. She could pull certain strings to make sure that the powers that be in Steelhead maintain control. There's also the Lycan sheriff has a military background

Unless, I'm misunderstanding my structure of the US government, the states, and the cities of the United States.
